PMC is a unique jewelry making material. This user- friendly product is a malleable substance that is composed of fine silver particles in an organic binder. It can be sculpted and manipulated like potter’s clay. After firing in a kiln, the end result is your unique design created in fine silver (.999).
In this 2-day workshop, explore many of the basic techniques on how to create with PMC silver. Throughout the class there will be plenty of hands-on, step-by-step demonstrations—using the material in the lump, sheet and paste forms.
Learn how easy this material can be manipulated by rolling, molding, carving, appliquéing and texturing. Once fired, it can be oxidized and polished just like traditional metal-smithing. Explore this fantastic medium while making pendants, earrings, and hollow beads.
While exploring these techniques, participants will be encouraged to find their own voice and style while have whole lot of fun learning how.
