Join Artist and Instructor, Kay Jarrett, on September 13th to design and make a gorgeous, enameled pendant! In this enameling workshop, students will be using wet and dry enamels and learning to apply them with a variety of enameling techniques... including sgraffito! Your pendant will be undergoing multiple firings... and because we're kiln-firing them versus torch firing, you'll see that you have so much creative flexibility! That said, Kay will also be demonstrating how to enamel with a torch so that you can compare what you're able to accomplish with both firing methods.
Q: What is enamel? A: Glass fused to metal with high heat!
Q: What is Sgraffito? A: A method of scratching through unfired enamel to reveal the fired surface and colors underneath.
This is a great workshop for anyone wanting to learn enameling for the first time, try new techniques, brush up on their existing skills, or just make and take home a gorgeous piece of unique jewelry!
This class is $95 (this includes all materials, instruction, and a light, scrumptious lunch!)
